Vol. 1 No. 1 (2025): Online Journal of Nursing Workforce

We are excited to introduce the inaugural edition of the Online Journal of Nursing Workforce. The journal has been created by the National Forum of State Nursing Workforce Centers and is a key part of our vision of a well-prepared, representative and responsive nursing workforce by convening expertise, supporting research and nurse-forward strategy. The National Forum a 501c3 non-profit leads a network of experts dedicated to ensuring a robust nursing workforce. 

This journal is the culmination of almost 30 years of building state-based nursing workforce centers, working together across states to develop standardized data collection tools, the development of a national infrastructure and then rapid growth. 

This edition is filled with cutting edge articles from the frontlines of nursing workforce across the United States. The articles display the rich collaborative work across nursing workforce centers. We are deeply grateful to our contributors for their hard work, our reviewers and editorial board and to our readers for their unwavering support. It is your engagement that will drive the success of the Online Journal of Nursing Workforce. 

Our first edition has a great selection of articles which can be purchased individually or as a part of the annual subscription. The journal will be published twice a year in the Spring and Fall.
